Introduction to Construction
Endorsed by local construction companies, this program is designed to assist jobseekers, school leavers or anyone looking for a career change; with the strategies and techniques to enter the Construction job market.
This program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge needed to find and keep a job in one of the fastest growing industries in Australia. The key components below will allow participants to move into casual, full or part-time employment; as labourers, construction workers and/or traffic controllers.
This three week program covers essential elements such as:
> Introduction to OH&S and Safe Manual Handling
> Construction Induction (CI) White Card
> Traffic Control & Traffic Management
> Level 1 First Aid
> How to keep your job secure & Work ethic
> Budgeting and job seeking in general
The course will run Monday to Thursday 9:30am - 3:30pm over 3 weeks. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive several Nationally Recognised Qualifications:
> 22012VIC Certificate I in Vocational Preparation.
> CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the Construction Industry
> RIIOHS205A Control Traffic with a Stop Slow Bat
> RIIOHS302A Implement Traffic Management Plan

Waived Tuition Fees:
If you are currently a job seeker registered with a Job Services Australia Provider, AND eligible for a Government Funded Place; you may be entitled to have your Tuition Fees (not including materials fees) waived by the Commonwealth Government. You must provide a signed DEEWR Job Seeker Referral Form from your JSA provider to access this waiver. Please speak to your JSA to discuss your options including any potential contribution you will be expected to make towards your fees.
